IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL PUPILS
17th March 2020
Dear Parents and Carers,
Firstly, I would like to start by saying a ‘thank you’ for how you are responding in these uncertain times. We have been pleased with the feeling of teamwork and understanding between school staff and parents and carers. This is important always, but especially at this difficult time.
As we respond to the global pandemic, we must continue to reassess school events in terms of necessity, with reduced numbers of staff and availability of trained personnel.
We are trying to keep all our children and staff as safe as possible and in order to do this we have made the following decisions:
Events
Staffing
Currently, we have a number of Teachers and Teaching Assistants absent for a minimum of 14 days. From Monday, we will have no option than to close Classes 2, 7, 8, and 9 due to staffing shortages. We will continue to remain open for as long as we feel it is safe to do so, or until the Government issue further instructions.
However, if the time comes when we can no longer ensure the safe supervision of your children, for whatever reason, we will be forced to close the whole school regardless of Government policy.
We are preparing resources to respond appropriately to school closure, which may take place. This includes setting online learning activities. For this purpose, it would be very helpful if we could be informed of any households that DO NOT have internet access. Please can you advise the office immediately if this applies. We will have specific work ready for Classes 2, 7, 8, and 9 to go home on Friday.
Isolation - Households:
The whole household must isolate for 14 days if anyone in a household has symptoms, however mild.

I hope that this information is helpful in understanding our next steps as a school. As noted, this is a very fluid situation and we will continue to keep you informed every step of the way.
We are in an unprecedented situation but this is when support across the community and for each other will be at its strongest. I wish you and your family the very best.
Kindest regards
Jo-Anne Rutt
